Bralirwa net profit up 62.8%

KIGALI, RWANDA - Bralirwa, Rwanda’s largest beer and soft drinks brewery reported a 62.8% jump in net profit in 2010 on the account of lower interest and income tax expenses.
Net profit jumped to Rf10.3 billion ($17,457,627) in 2010 from Rf6.3 billion ($10,677,966) in 2009, General Manager Sven Erik Mr. Sven Erik Piederiet announced last week. Gross Revenue rose to Rf80.6 billion ($136,610,169) from Rf71.3 billion ($120,847,457) year on year, owing to increased sales volume and higher pricing. Primus and Mützig beer brands contributed highly in sales volumes. Bralirwa announced its 2010 financial results ahead of annual shareholder meeting expected June 21, 2011. This will be the first shareholder gathering after the company went public on Rwanda Stock Exchange.
