Vivo Energy Uganda & GoodLife Pharmacy partner to include pharmacy outlets at Shell service stations

KAMPALA, UGANDA-  In order to significantly widen the access to world class pharmacy and health hub (wellness centre) services to Ugandans, Vivo Energy Uganda has signed a partnership agreement with GoodLife Pharmacy that will see its pharmacy stores set up within existing Shell service stations across the country.

Driven by the steady growth in convenience-seeking customers, Vivo Energy Uganda is refurbishing existing Shell service stations so that they not only include high-quality fuels and lubricants but also offer services including shops, quick service restaurants, pharmacies, ATMs, tyre centres and car wash facilities.

Goodlife Pharmacy is a fast-growing pharmacy and health hub with branches in Uganda and Kenya. During the inauguration of the partnership at Shell Namirembe, Gilbert Assi, Managing Director Vivo Energy Uganda said that Vivo Energy has invested in convenience retailing to offer a wider range of services to both customers who fuel and service their vehicles at Shell service stations, as well as walk in customers:  “The partnership with Goodlife Pharmacy continues to reaffirm what we have always said and believed in – that convenience retail is an extension of our core business at Shell service stations”.

“Today marks the culmination of a partnership of two great household brands, offering a one-stop shop for consumers in Uganda. We promise to deliver genuine, quality and affordable products to our customers at their convenience. We are excited about the opportunity the East African region provides of building a sustainable business with a duty of care to its citizens, which aligns with Goodlife’s vision. Our commitment is dependent on our customers’ support and we shall endeavour to build more partnerships to realise this vision.” said Chris Kieu, Goodlife Pharmacies’ Group CFO.

Chief Pharmacist, Sarah Ameso, noted that since its establishment in Uganda in 2016, Goodlife has endeavoured to support the National Drug Authority’s mandate to provide quality pharmaceutical products and services across the country. This day marks the beginning of a partnership that will extend access to these services to all our citizens and ensure a healthy and vibrant society that can actively participate in the economic development of Uganda.

Goodlife Pharmacy and Shell Namirembe will run a number of promotions on cosmetics and baby products from 27th June to August 30th 2018.
