Uganda names AFCON squad to camp in Abu Dhabi

Uganda Cranes Head coach Sebastien Desabre has recalled Canadian based midfielder Mike Azira to a list of players for the camp in Abu Dhabi in preparation for the forthcoming AFCON Finals in Egypt.

The Montreal FC star Mike Azira, who last featured for the Uganda Cranes in the 2017 AFCON in Gabon, was ignored for all the entire qualifying campaign. Desabre has also recalled South African based Allan Kateregga of Maritzburg United, who have a relegation playoff to negotiate this weekend.

Popularly known as the ‘Dance Master’, Kateregga was last on Uganda Cranes duty away to Lesotho in Maseru. Raja Casablanca Striker Mohammed Shaban and Lebanon Based Dennis Iguma miss out on the named squad.

The squad has both local and foreign-based players. The entire Uganda Cranes contingent will fly out on 27th May 2019 to the Arab world where they will camp and play two friendly matches.
