KAMPALA, Uganda-Latest figures from Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) have indicated that inflation in Uganda has declined to 1.7% for the year ended May 2018 from 1.8% for the year ended April 2018.
The drop is as a result of decline of core inflation to 1.1% from 1.6% in April.
Energy Fuel and Utilities inflation has declined to 10.3% in May from 10.4% in April 2018.
Dr. Chris Mukiza, UBOS- Director of Macroeconomic statistics said the general price levels have remained relatively stable.
Arua at 3.9% still has the highest inflation among the geographical areas. It is follows by Fortportal at 3.6%, Kampala high income follows at 2.3%
