PepsiCo has vowed to withdraw its lawsuit against Indian potato farmers who the multinational giant accused of infringing its patent. The lawsuit was earlier slammed by advocacy groups.
“After discussions with the government, the company has agreed to withdraw the cases against the farmers,” PepsiCo India spokesman said on Thursday.
Meanwhile in Uganda, PepsiCo subsidiary Crown Beverages Limited has rewarded the first pair of winners under its Tukonectinge with Pepsi promo that kicked-off mid last month. The duo received their cars during a handover event that was held in Lira town.

“I couldn’t believe when I was called and informed that I was a winner during the first live Tukonectinge with Pepsi show on Easter Sunday and invited to attend the next television show,” said Atworo one of the winners.
He exclaimed that “I am overly excited and this is a turning point in my life because I did not believe that I would own a car in the near future, but by luck, I own one now.”
