A Pan African Hotel group, ONOMO Hotels chain, which opened its business in Rwanda, seeking to boost business tourism in Kigali and the rest of East Africa has set its eyes on Kampala Uganda, East African Business Week understands.
The ONOMO Hotels group’s ambition is to operate more than 3,700 rooms by 2022 while in the next 18 months, new hotels will open their doors in Cape Town (the second hotel located in this city), Casablanca and Tangier (Morocco), Douala (Cameroon), Maputo (Mozambique), and Kampala (Uganda).
ONOMO Hotels officially inaugurated their new hotel in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city, in addition to their portfolio during an auspicious and glamorous event.
The US$ 20-million-dollar hotel investment project is situated with close proximity to Kigali City Centre and the Kigali International Airport. ONOMO Hotels Group expansion strategy targets major business districts and capital cities on the African continent.

ONOMO Hotels is a pan-African hotel group established in 2009 and is now present in 9 countries with 12 hotels, representing 1,200 rooms in Dakar (Senegal), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Libreville (Gabon), Bamako (Mali), Lome (Togo), Cape Town, Sandton and Durban (South Africa), Conakry (Guinea), Rabat (Morocco), and Kigali which is a newcomer within the group.
The hotel’s concept brings together ecological and technological solutions, contemporary culture and local resources so that the community benefits from the economic impact of the hotel.
