Mubiru drops all strike ring leaders at AFCON in new-look Uganda Cranes squad

Uganda Cranes Interim Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru has summoned a 25 man squad that will play an international friendly match with Kenya this Sunday at the Kasarani National Stadium in Nairobi.

Mubiru has dropped all players who were reported to have been behind the embarrassing sit down strike, which the Uganda Cranes encountered at the 2019 Egypt AFCON.

Players Salim Jamal Magoola, Nicolas Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi and Allan Kateregga were pointed out as the masterminds of the 2019 Egypt AFCON sit down strike. None of them has been summoned for Cranes duty in a supposedly new-look team.

Also missing out from the Sebastien Desabre AFCON squad are Isaac Muleme, Bevis Mugabi, Ronald Mukiibi, Michael Azira, Derrick Nsibambi and Hassan Wasswa Mawanda.

According to Mubiru, the locally-based players will train this Thursday morning at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo before flying out the same day later in the evening while the foreign-based stars will connect from their clubs direct to Kenya.
