MBALE, UGANDA- Standard Chartered Bank last week kicked off their monthly draws of the popular "Yoola Omudidi" promotion.
The first draw was staged in Uganda's eastern district of Mbale, where the dwellers were treated with drama and fun.
Twelve StanChart customers walked away with goodies.
Uganda Business House Limited account, a local company in Mbale won an all expenses paid trip to England using Turkish Airlines to watch Liverpool play at Anfield.
Other winners included Ruth Bunyenyezi, Humphrey Masaba who won a DSTV dish with a decoder and a home theatre system, Shamilah Assima
(42 inch LCD screen), Sulaiman Mutebi, Deborah Emeru, Chris Bayisa, Sarah Namujju, Guster Lule and Mikie Wandera.
Standard Chartered Bank started the Yoola Omudidi promotion in 2006 to give back to their loyal customers.
According to Herman Kasekende, the Bank's Head of Consumer Banking, the promotion is also aimed at driving a saving culture in Uganda. To take part in the draw, one has to be a StanChart customer with an account with a minimum balance of Ush500,000 ($200).
"By doing this, we're rewarding loyalty and bringing some fun into banking,"
said Kasekende before adding that the next draw, that will see a StanChart customer winning a Toyota Hilux will be held in Jinja in mid October.
