Rwanda's Rugege picked for continental post

KIGALI, RWANDA - The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for MTN Rwanda Mr. Andrew Rugege has been named the Africa Regional Director for International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency for Information Communications Technology (ICT).
Mr. Rugege, who has worked for the leading telecom player in Rwanda for five years, takes office on August 15, 2011 and he will be based in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, according to a communiqué from MTN Rwanda.
MTN continues to lead the mobile market in Rwanda with more than 2 million subscribers.
