Keza named Mirinda Miss Teen
KAMPALA, Uganda - Fourteen-year-old Keza Namazzi from Mt.St.Mary’s Namagunga was on Saturday crowned the 2014 Mirinda Miss Teen Star during the grand finale of Mirinda Miss Teen Season 3 at Kati Kati in Kampala.
The Senior One student exhibited brilliance, eloquence, beauty, and talent.
The first-runner up was Mariane Katusiime of Nabisunsa Girls and second runner-up was Gloria Rutaremwa of Seeta High. The other winners were Bridget Nantume of Nsambya Girls School (Miss Entrepreneur), Eden
International School’s Linda Muhoza (Miss Popularity), Namagunga’s Beatrice Birungi (Miss Brainy) and Patricia Lamwaka (Miss Fashionista).
Keza walked home with Shs2.5 mi lion worth school fees for a year while Katusiime and Rutaremwa got Shs1.5m and Shs1.2m respectively.
This year’s theme was Miss Teen Star, and the judges were looking out for a young, confident girl who has excelled in numerous aspects including academics, sports, arts and leadership.
The top girls at the grand finale were chosen from the more than 150 schools that participated during the countrywide tour.
The teens that came in big numbers for the event were also entertained by musicians US-based teen sensation MarkStella ,Fille, Navio, Sheebah,Pallaso,MunG,Hypeman, Dj Mark, and comedians Bright Onak and Arthur Da Vaccine.
The Mirinda brand manager, Berna Kizza, promised a bigger and better Mirinda Miss Teen Season 4 next year.
