Burundi wins Gold award

THIS IS IT: The Burundi Second Vice-President , Dr. Gervais Rufyikiri (right) handing over the Gold Medal rewarded in Brussels by Crans Montana forum to the President of the Republic, HE Pierre Nkurunziza.


The Second Vice-President of the Republic of Burundi, Dr. Gervais Rufyikiri has received the Gold Medal of Crans Montana on behalf of the President of the Republic of Burundi, its Government and people of Burundi for their efforts in the social and economic development of the country. 

The second Vice-President received it during the annual session of the Crans Montana Forum on trade and industry held in Brussels from 19 to 22 March 2014. The 2014 edition was devoted to the “South-South cooperation and the growing role of Africa.”

The main reason for the Crans Montana Forum award to Burundi is that the country that suffered from conflict for several years but has now demonstrated outstanding recovery. It is for this reason that the Crans Montana plans to bring its potential to help Burundi through the regional and international integration for the consolidation of achievements and a prosperous future for the people of Burundi.
