We need new, wider roads

EDITORFor long I have tried to think of a possible solution to the traffic jam in Kampala (Uganda) and the outskirts! The northern by pass among other reasons was built to reduce congestion in the city!

Since November, we are still yet to see traffic jam reduce! My problem is not the number of new roads built, but the size of those roads. At this point in time, Kampala needs roads with three or more lanes.

We are unfortunate to have to share the same roads with trailers, tractors, caterpillars busses and lorries! No wonder there is unending jam except during Christmas holidays!

With more money accorded to infrustracture this year, I hope the ministry of works and transport will include widening the roads (new and old) as they plan.
