RWANDA and Kenya are the only regional countries whose boxers will compete in the 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships set for April 23-May 1 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Rwanda will send three boxers while Kenya will send one boxer to the two-week long competition. Rwandan duo of Matusi Haziza (light fly, 48kg) and Peter Habyarimana (54kg, bantam weight) are currently undergoing a training camp in Baku which begins on April 14-20. Fly weight (51) pugilist Olivier Shingiro is the other boxer who will join the duo before the competition starts on April 23.

The training is dubbed 'road to Baku' where Rwanda is among the 105 countries whose boxers will benefit from a week-long camp which will put them in right shape for the World Junior Championship.

The Road to Baku program is a training camp and development initiative funded by the AIBA Grant Program that pays for all travel and accommodation expenses for boxers and coaches to attend the training camp and the World Championships.
