Prossy Arigye was last week announced as the first lucky winner of an all expenses trip to Mombasa and was shocked and excited about the trip.
The visibly excited Arigye couldn't help screaming, "I just had an idea I would win one of the prizes which is why I had to come for this draw. This is so exciting and I am definitely going to go on holiday with my best friend Sheila. Thank you so much V&A" she said.
The V&A cover girl campaign entered its second phase last week when 50 girls were randomly selected in a lucky draw to proceed to the audition stage.
On the same day, two lucky draws were held to narrow down the entries - one at Uchumi Supermarket and the second one at Buddies bar in Ntinda including an all expenses trip to Mombasa.
Consumers countrywide are given the chance to win a variety of prizes including fashion make-overs, dinner tickets, and shopping vouchers.
Phoebe Nakabazzi, brand manager of spirits UBL said "This is an exciting period for the V&A cover girl campaign. We have our first set of 50 girls who automatically make it to the audition stage. Essentially the search is still on as we require another 50 girls to complete the 100 girls we want for the next round". There are 80 more slots left for the grand audition which is set to have 100 contestants.
Nakabazzi added "If there is time we urge intense participation is in now, there is a lot to gain - for potential cover girls out there as well as consumers. We have given away our first holiday destination trip and two more are still up for grabs; the trip to Zanzibar and Seychelles as well as other fabulous prizes. Go out, participate and win with V&A".
The next draw will take place next week to determine the last 50 girls who will join the auditions scheduled for 27th March 2010. The campaign concludes on the 30th of April 2010 and the lucky girl will be on the cover of the May issue of African Woman. |
