Teen Rap and Reggae star, Kisean Jamal Anderson a.k.a Sean Kingston will headline the 2010 Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards show alongside Tanzanian stars at Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam on 15th, May.
The Jamaican American Reggae sensation is best known for his debut single and No.1 hit Beautiful Girls. At the moment, the singles Fire Burning and Face Drop from his current album "Tomorrow are doing well in the radio charts, says David Minja, Marketing Director of Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL).

Kilimanjaro Premium lager is among the premier brand of TBL that has gone out to music, it is the chief sponsor of the giant club in Tanzania-Simba and Young sports club.
Kilimanjaro Music Awards is Tanzania's answer to Uganda's Pearl of Africa Music Awards and Kenya's Kisima Music Awards.

The big winners for the 10th edition that took place in 2009 were Kenya's Nameless who won Best East African song with his song Salari, Tanzania's Matonya for Best Song and Collaboration for his 'Anita' track with Judith Wambura a.k.a Lady Jay Dee and V.I.P who picked up both Taarab awards.

This year's edition was launched at the Club Bilicans in Dar es Salaam in February at a ceremony that was attended by various musicians including Chidi Benzi, AY, Lady Jay Dee, Mzee Yusuf, Banana Zorro, Mrisho Mpoto, Prof Jay, Nyoshi El-Saadat and Keisha.
For more than two years now the Kilimanjaro Music Award has been heavily criticized for what people allege to be lack of transparence in selecting nominees and wining categories.

"I believe our neighbors in Kenya and Uganda started their Awards after learning from Kilimanjaro Music Award, but they have succeed in organizing their Awards very well avoiding complains from artists as well as from music stakeholders. It is time for some changes in order to improve these Awards before it turns into a boring music event," says Nyoshi El-Saadat, a Congolese musician who is also the president of FM Academia in Dar es Salaam.

To rectify the problem the main sponsor of the award, TBL, has invited about 100 music stakeholders and hosted them at Kunduchi Wet and Wild in the city.

Among tasks to be accomplished by the hosted stakeholders is nominating ten artists in each category to be used to decide on for the sake of transparency in selecting winning artists. TBL has hired Delloite and Touche to conduct a research to find out the best ways of running the Kilimanjaro Music Award in a bid to improve it.

Deloitte and Touché is the brand under which tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services to selected clients.

The audit firm will travel to five of the 21 regions on Tanzania mainland to collect views of different people, the regions includes Mbeya, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza and Arusha.

According to statement released by TBL, Delloite and Touche will help the Kilimanjaro Music Award reclaim trust from people and meet the Awards targets while observing ethics.

It is the same Delloite and Touche that serviced Kenya's Kisima Music Award and the Grammy Music Award.
