Nile Breweries gets new Country Director

KAMPALA, UGANDA-  Thomas Kamphuis 41, has been appointed as the new Nile Breweries (U) Ltd Country Operations Director for Uganda and South Sudan, replacing James Bowmaker who announced his desire to step down in March.

Kamphuis who has an experience of over 17 years in fast moving consumer goods companies, of which 14years have been in the beer industry, joined from the headquarters of AB inBev East Africa Business Unit based in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. He was the Marketing Director.

“I’m thrilled and humbled to have been given the opportunity to manage one of the most successful companies in Uganda,” said Kamphuis.

Kamphuis also announced that they will be investing over $22million in upgrading their capacity in the coming months. He said 2017 was a remarkable year for them, where they were able to grow their volume with over 25%.

“Our core brands Eagle, Nile Special and Club performed extremely well,” said Kamphuis.

Meanwhile, Kamphuis also participated in the blood donation drive by the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services. Recently, Uganda was hit by an acute blood shortage throughout the country.
